We’ve all heard it before – good help is hard to find. This age old saying seems to ring true across the board regardless of what profession or industry you’re talking about. The data center industry is no exception. In fact, according to the 2020 AFCOM State of the Data Center report, 77% of respondents reported difficulties in recruiting at least some type of personnel. That’s a significant amount that could become even more exacerbated in the future due to the potential lasting impact of COVID-19 on the workplace.

Needless to say, now is the time to rethink your recruiting and hiring processes. Everything from your careers page and application portal to how you engage with applicants in interviews and the benefits you offer; the entire process needs to be reimagined if you want to successfully recruit and retain the next generation of data center professionals. To do this, you’ll first need to understand the internal and external factors that impact decision making for these individuals (late Millennials and GenZ’ers). Throwing out your biases and becoming more empathetic will go a long way in achieving this:

Real-time monitoring, data-driven optimization.

Immersive software, innovative sensors and expert thermal services to monitor,
manage, and maximize the power and cooling infrastructure for critical
data center environments.
