New self-installable containment solution creates a brand new category of containment for data center managers to consider.

Albuquerque, NM – June 25, 2014 –Upsite Technologies, Inc., a leader in data center airflow management solutions, announced today the commercial availability of AisleLok Modular Containment.

Originally unveiled in April at Data Center World in Las Vegas, Upsite’s AisleLok Modular Containment has successfully improved the airflow conditions at a number of early adopter data centers.  Since no custom construction is required, the sites have experienced no disruption, while saving valuable time.  Additionally, when compared to traditional containment offerings, AisleLok’s low cost and highly flexible offering enables data center managers to easily scale for full implementation across the entire computer room.

AisleLok Modular Containment is a highly flexible re-deployable containment solution that:

  • Can be applied to either hot or cold aisles
  • Can be self-installed in minutes
  • Can quickly and easily be reconfigured to new aisles without third party labor for installation.
  • Provides easy access to all equipment and infrastructure as needed.

When Upsite approached Dave Martinez of Sandia National Labs for testing the new AisleLok Modular Containment components in his data center, he gladly obliged. “I always like to be aware of new solutions that enter the market, and see how they can solve my problems differently than what’s currently available.”  After AisleLok testing, Sandia ordered several pairs of doors and began using them on hot-spot problem areas throughout the room.

“AisleLok Modular Containment has been designed specifically to improve the airflow performance in both existing and new data centers without disruption,” said Lars Strong, Senior Engineer Upsite Technologies. “We are delighted with the initial installation results of AisleLok Modular Containment, which have led to significant improvements in cooling capacity and a savings in energy consumption.”

The two main components of the AisleLok Modular Containment are the Rack Top Baffle and the Bi-Directional Doors, with an optional Rack Gap Panel. The Rack Top Baffle can be purchased in either a 30° angle (from horizontal) position or in a vertical 90° angle (from horizontal) position. Both components attach directly to the racks magnetically. The open-sealing design prevents aisle over-pressurization, and its elegant appearance brings professional aesthetic to the facility.
