Upsite adds a new addition to its HotLok® line of rack airflow management products
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico – August 1, 2019 – Upsite Technologies, the global leader in data center airflow management and cooling optimization solutions, announced today a new addition to its award-winning line of HotLok® products: the Full Rack Blanking Panel Kit. Designed to completely seal the vertical plane of 42U-50U racks, Upsite’s new Full Rack Blanking Panel Kit provides a completely tool-less, out-of-the-box blanking solution for unpopulated IT racks.
Backed by the best-sealing blanking panel on the market, the HotLok Full Rack Blanking Panel Kit greatly reduces bypass airflow and eliminates exhaust air recirculation through open racks, while significantly reducing installation times. The kit features two pre-assembled 21U panels and additional 1U and 2U HotLok blanking panels to fill the remaining open U spaces in rack sizes up to 50U. The 21U blanking panels contain magnetic strips along the inside face to ensure a complete seal between the side rails of the rack and the blanking panel.
“As the data center industry continues to grow, it has become very common to see racks that have not been populated with IT equipment or blanking panels. These open racks can become a source of bypass airflow or an area where exhaust air recirculation can occur, which can lead to increased cooling costs and decreased reliability of surrounding IT equipment,” said Lars Strong, Upsite Technologies Senior Engineer and Company Science Officer. “The new Full Rack Blanking Panel Kit addresses these issues by creating a complete seal along the face of open IT racks, while dramatically reducing the amount of labor associated with installing typical 1U blanking panels,” Strong added.
